Communication in Cuba

Cuban law limits freedom of expression, association, assembly, movement, and the press. This strict regime will be the premise of our investigation, as we will research the way information communication technology affects Cuban society. Specifically, we will focus on four sectors- communication and the media, communication of policy, law, and regulation, and communication and human rights. We will also research communication and governance in Cuba, specifically focusing on how Cubans are using information communication technology to break free of oppressive media control by the Cuban Government. This is a particularly interesting period for Cubans as the government begins to liberalize the economy and allow some personal media technology and free enterprise.
